The Padres added reliever Craig Italiano, left-handed pitcher Steve Garrison and outfielder Chad Huffman to their 40-man roster on Friday.
Italiano, 23, was acquired in the July trade that sent outfielder Scott Hairston to the Oakland Athletics.
He compiled a 1.44 ERA in 19 relief appearances at Single-A Lake Elsinore after the trade.

The Padres announced their 2010 Spring Training schedule on Thursday, one that has them opening with a familiar foe.
The Padres will play their annual charity game against the Seattle Mariners on March 4 before officially starting the Cactus League season the following day with another game in Peoria against the Mariners.
This will be the Padres' 17th spring in Peoria.

Free agency is set to begin at 9:01 p.m.
Thursday, though if history is any indication, the Padres will likely be quiet on that front again this offseason.
The Padres, coming off a season where they had a $43 million payroll, aren't expecting to have much more to work with in 2010.

When I was in fourth grade, I attempted to construct a California Mission from flour, water and salt.
I fashioned my model, painted it and over time watched its walls crack and crumble.
